The Pest Ex journey began back in 2013, when two childhood friends from Teesside combined their years of experience in the pest control industry to form Bird Tech Ltd, with the vision of driving the future of the pest control industry through innovation and unrivalled quality.
Building on their knowledge and experience spanning more than 30 years, founders Michael Cumiskey and Stephen Hall went on to grow Bird Tech Ltd to become the UK’s leading provider of bird control solutions, with the company’s bird control arm operating nationwide.
The Pest Ex brand launched in 2020 to recognise the success of our expert pest control technicians operating across the North East. Since then, Pest Ex has built a reputation for delivering guaranteed service excellence, keeping homes and businesses across the region pest‑free.
Our two brands work closely, with shared values, placing innovation, quality, safety, reliability and integrity at the heart of everything we do.
The team is headed up by Directors Michael Cumiskey and Stephen Hall and Operations Manager Lauren Shanley.

All staff receive ongoing training as part of their continuing professional development to ensure they are up-to-date with the latest developments, legislation and innovations. As a result, our clients can rest assured that the services our technicians provide are at the forefront of their field.
